Emerging Producers In Community (EPIC) Initiative
Emerging producer SASHA GRBICH has joined the ANAT team to develop the regional youth new media arts project pixel.play
The pixel.play program supports young artists to develop creative projects using mobile phones and readily available digital technologies. Mobile phones have huge potential as artistic creation and distribution tools, and been used in a variety of projects from the creation of SMS poetry and pixel drawings, to sound, animations and short films.
In 2006, pixel.play workshop programs took place in Whyalla and Port Lincoln in regional South Australia, where over 100 students took part in pixel.play workshops in their schools, while 30 ambitious students elected to take part in further workshops run at the local TAFE or University.
